In Memory of Victor L. Tomelden - 8/27/1953 - 05/29/2020

Victor Lopez Tomelden passed into Life Eternal on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 11:00 am due to complications from liver cancer. He was born on August 27, 1953 in Quezon City, Philippines, the second of Ismael and Maria Tomelden’s five children. Following his parents and siblings, Victor moved to Berkeley, California in 1969. He graduated from Berkeley High School in 1971 and went on to serve in the United States Army. Victor later completed his college studies at the Keller Graduate School of Management in 2003.

After a long career as a maintenance foreman at Heublein and The Wine Group, and as an engineer technician at Tesla, Victor was looking forward to his well-deserved retirement that he would spend playing golf, being with his dogs, going on the occasional bicycle ride, and of course, enjoying life with his beloved wife Elba Tomelden. He is survived by Elba, daughter Kori Tomelden, son Jonathan Tomelden, grandchildren Victor, Gabriella, and Andrea, mother Maria Tomelden, brother Ismael Tomelden, Jr. (Grace), sister Lourdes Iwataki (Dave), sister Ana Toda (Reid), brother Bernardino Tomelden (Caitlin); in laws Salvador and María Gómez, Sílvia Rodriguez, Dora Guzman, Efren Gomez, Rosalinda Perez, Margarito Gomez, Salvador Gomez , Susana Ruiz and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends. He is predeceased by his father, Ismael Tomelden Sr.

Victor was a humanitarian who always had a kind word for everyone he came into contact with. He was a husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Imperfect, as we all are, he was also endlessly kind, cheerful, thoughtful, and loving. He made us laugh and gave far too much of himself, and that is how we will remember him. He is on his way to dwell in the house of the Lord, where we hope he will keep his God entertained. We will miss this gift; we will all miss Victor.
